Practical Work that Accelerates Growth
Without hesitation, most Cornerstone advisors will tell you that the National Meeting is the best firm event of the year. It brings together advisors from across the country, highlights the amazing work they’re doing and features expert speakers with actionable takeaways.
In 2025, the National Meeting focused on what it takes to design and deliver a distinctive client experience under the theme “Every Second Counts.” This idea was woven into every session, reminding advisors that even the smallest touchpoints matter when building a culture of excellence, trust and exceptional service.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many advisors sharing that it’s one of the most valuable events they attend all year. They appreciate not only the strategies they can bring back to their offices but also the opportunity to connect with their peers in person.
Taking the Stage
The meeting kicked off with a presentation from Co-Founder & Managing Partner Joe Keifer, President Bill Friebel and Director of Advisor Development John Wehmer, highlighting major milestones achieved over the past year, both across the firm and within individual practices. Advisors enjoyed seeing how much the firm has grown since it's founding 20 years ago, as well as some milestones they and their peers have accomplished. Cornerstone’s Chief Compliance Officer, Tom Gooden, also took the stage to share what regulators are focusing on during audits, as well as practical reminders on staying compliant.
Creating Intentional Interactions
“Every Second Counts” came to life through lessons in legendary service from Christie Pink of the Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center, who inspired attendees to elevate client interactions and empower team members to create meaningful, memorable moments. Cornerstone advisors also shared firsthand how their teams deliver “wow” experiences through thoughtful touchpoints, gifting strategies and consistent communication.
Practical Work that Accelerates Growth
The next speakers dug deeper into the practical work of building an exceptional client experience that will develop relationships, drive referrals and accelerate business growth. Wayne Badorf of Invesco outlined a proactive communication approach paired with client segmentation to strengthen retention. Mike “Cy” Cajthaml Jr., in partnership with First Trust, expanded on those ideas with exercises designed to challenge how advisors think about client engagement through a relationship-centered feedback process that builds trust.
Cornerstone advisors then took the stage to share how they’ve expanded engagement through client events, advisory boards and community involvement – all of which have contributed to measurable growth in their practices.
Each Moment Counts
The meeting concluded with an energizing session from motivational speaker Dr. Kevin Elko of New York Life Investments on Mastering the Psychology of Growth. His message underscored that mindset drives momentum – and that using the principles of highly motivated teams within their own offices can propel advisors to new heights.
